Getting Around on Android: Map Interaction

Panning and Zooming

The RadarScope map is fully interactive. You can pan and zoom via common gestures. To move around the map, drag across it with one finger in any direction. To zoom in or out, use a pinching gesture with two fingers. You can also double-tap the map then drag your finger up to zoom in and down to zoom out.

Annotations

Some objects displayed on the map—including warning polygons, storm report icons, and spotter locations—offer annotations. Tap on any of these objects to reveal its annotation popup. Tap the blue info button inside the annotation to show additional information. Tap anywhere outside the annotation to close it again.

Full-Screen Mode

Full-screen mode hides most of the UI elements surrounding the map so you can focus on the map itself. To enter full-screen mode, touch and hold a finger on the map. You can continue to interact with the map as you normally would. To exit full-screen mode, touch and hold a finger on the map again, or tap the button on the far right side of the toolbar.
